Apple Q3 Report: Beats Earnings & Profit Estimates, But iPhones below Expectations; Stock Falls After Hours
Apple reported its 3rd Quarter, FY 2015 Results: Apple posted revenue of $49.6 billion and net quarterly profit of $10.7 billion, or $1.85 per diluted share. Gross margin for the quarter was 39.7 percent compared to 39.4 percent in the year-ago quarter, with international sales accounting for 64 percent of revenue. Apple also declared an upcoming dividend payment of $0.52 per share, payable on August 13. The company now holds $202.8 billion in cash and marketable securities. iOS 8 is Coming Wednesday… Wait.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17, 2014, a new version of Apple’s iOS operating system for iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches – iOS 8 – will be released. And I’m going to advise something I don’t often: wait to upgrade for at least a few days. And if you do upgrade in the next couple days, when the installation asks you if you want to upgrade to the new “iCloud Drive” feature, select the “Not Now” option and wait that out.
