Well, it is now official. Apple has sent out invites to an event to be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. The event is scheduledfor 10AM Pacific Time at the FLint Center for Performing Arts in Cupertino, CA. Oddly, this is not a site in which Apple has held any such recent events. In fact, you have to go all the way back to the unveiling of the original iMac in 1998 for the last time Apple announced a product at this venue. I wonder – a little Kremlinology or tea-leaf reading here – if that means that the Apple leadership thinks this is a truly special announcement of similar significance to the first iMac.
